O’Connell & Co Interiors, founded by Patty O’Connell, is a full service design firm located in Winnetka Illinois. Patty’s love for design goes back to her childhood home in Winnetka, where her parents let her, at the young age of 15, design various rooms in their own home. She’s been hooked on design ever since. Patty spent over 20 years of her corporate career in hospitality design. For the last ten, Patty worked with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts designing some of the worlds most beautiful spaces. Some of her most memorable properties were The Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, Hawaii- Hualalai, Lanai, Maui, Oahu @ Ko Olina, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Bahrain & Punta Mita.

Patty left the hospitality design world in 2021 to give her full attention to her first love- residential design. Her goal is to create beautiful, livable spaces that convert a house into a home. “The design should be intentional & the selections meaningful & reflect the client”. Her passion is color, pattern & layers. No two spaces should ever be alike- which never seems to be a problem for her.

Patty met Scottsdale based designer Julie Rushing in 2024 when she moved to Winnetka to be closer to her children. Patty says as soon as they met they both knew they were a design team dream. Julie lives in Winnetka near two of her three daughter and travels often to see her third daughter in Boston. Her seven grandchildren keep her very busy as well as her travels to Santa Barbara & Montana where she has even more family.
